Provincial tournament - The u14 leadership team had their final games of the season this weekend at the Basketball NB provincial tournament in Fredericton. The first game was against YFC Elite. We have beaten them before and they have beaten us, so it was a close game. We went dry offensively in the third quarter and dug a 20-point hole, but came back in the 4th to close within 8. Bentley was selected player of the game and Adayah won the coaches' choice award. The second game against the Lynx was a defensive battle. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 7-6. The game stayed close throughout with the Lynx finally pulling ahead at the end to win by 9. Kadin was selected player of the game and Mo Alabdo won the coaches' choice award. In the final game, we faced off against River Valley. This time, we were clicking on all cylinders, offensively and defensively. Everyone on the team scored. It was a back and forth battle. With one minute left, Bentley hit two free throws to tie the game. Then River Valley came down and sunk a 3. We called a time out and drew up a play to get an open look ourselves, but weren't able to convert and ended up down 5. Jhon was selected player of the game and Zechariah won the coaches' choice award. It was a great weekend! Thanks to all of you for representing Rising Stars so well! ...
